How Pastor Tricked Lady To Sow Seed With Her N4.5m Car With Fake Prophecy

A 30-year old Cleric, Pastor Destiny Moses, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly tricking a 30-year old lady with fake prophecy, that God asked her to sow a seed with her KIA saloon car worth N4.5m.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the lady, Elizabeth Light Olubukola, believed him and immediately handed over the car key with the vehicle particulars to him and trekked back home after the purported deliverance prayer.
The incident happened at No. 9 Kings Avenue, Ijedodo area of Lagos, where Pastor Moses resides.
While the lady, Elizabeth, was handing over the car to him, she had wanted to remove her Apple laptop worth N800,000, which was inside the car. But Pastor Moses told her that the revelation he received from God included the laptop and that she should as well sow it as a seed with the car and she obeyed.
The total sum of the items that Elizabeth used to sow the seed to Pastor Moses was put at N5.3m. She went home waiting for her prayers to be answered as assured by Pastor Moses.
However, trouble started after Elizabeth returned home without the car and members of her family asked her about the car with registration number, GGE847DS, which was registered in the family’s company name, Bumedel Global Resources Limited. She then told them that Pastor Moses asked her to sow a seed with the car so that her prayers will be answered by God.
The family got angry and told her that the car was bought with the company’s name and given to her and she had no right to use the car to sow a seed to Pastor Moses.
The matter was reported to the Police at Isheri Oshun Division and Pastor Moses was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
During interrogation, Moses told the Police that after the lady, Elizabeth, handed the car over to him as a seed, that he sold it to one Chikezie Ameachi, 42, for an undisclosed amount.
Hence, the Police arrested the buyer, Ameachi, who claimed that he had already sold the car to a customer.
The Police found both of them culpable and then charged Pastor Moses for conspiracy and stealing while Ameachi was arraigned for receiving stolen a car.
They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty before Court to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted Pastor Moses and Amaechi bail in the sum of N750,000 and N450,000 respectively with sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos State, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 24th October, 2023, for mention.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted an invitation to meet with the United States President, Joe Biden, on the sideline of the United Nations General Assembly meeting.
Aguri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this on Saturday in a statement after a meeting between Tinubu and US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Ambassador Molly Phee.
“President Joe Biden is asking to meet with you on the sidelines of UNGA, and you are the only African leader he has requested to meet. It is a mark of his high regard for your leadership,” Phee said.

Akeredolu’s Expected Return Causes Anxiety In Acting Gov’s Camp
The camp of the acting governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reportedly been filled with anxiety following the imminent return of the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, to the state after his extended medical treatment abroad.
Sources that spoke with The Guardian claim that the Deputy Governor has been meeting with some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in an attempt to seek forgiveness from Akeredolu over his actions while his boss was away.
The sources claimed that Aiyedatiwa while the Ondo State Governor was away in Germany, receiving treatment was reportedly involved in the plot to force Akeredolu into resigning on health grounds.
A source within the Executive Council explained that Aiyedatiwa and his supporters have been restless since the emergence of pictures and videos online showing the governor in the process of recovery.
According to the source, the acting governor and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Gbenga Ale, had assured certain members of the Executive Council that the governor would not be returning.
Some members of the Executive Council who aligned themselves with Aiyedatiwa were reportedly convinced that the governor either would not return alive or would resign, thereby allowing the deputy governor to assume the position of governor.
It was also revealed that these members of the Executive Council had been promised various positions and juicy ministries.
According to the plan, the Chief of Staff, Ale, was promised the position of Secretary to the State Government, while Commissioner Rasaq Obe was promised the position of deputy governor to Aiyedatiwa.
Obe hails from Ifedore in the Ondo Central Senatorial District.
Sources that spoke with the platform also claimed that Aiyedatiwa has met with former National Secretary of the APC, Iyiola Omisore, former Southwest Chairman of the party, Chief Pius Akinyelure, and former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.
These meetings were reportedly held separately in Abuja.
The deputy governor is said to be visiting these APC leaders in an attempt to gain their favour and secure their support in persuading the governor to overlook his actions.
Another reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity in Akure said, “I was accused of being loyal to Aiyedatiwa. It is true that the deputy governor made some moves. He invited me and others to several meetings and shared information that cannot be disclosed at this time.
“I believe he received false information suggesting that the governor would not return. I know this because he was overly confident about that fact. He was already envisioning himself as the waiting governor.
“Aiyedatiwa told us that the governor could no longer move his hands. He mentioned some files he took to Ibadan that were signed and returned to him. According to him, the governor did not sign those files himself. He concluded that the governor would not be coming back.
“As it stands, apart from meeting with both APC and opposition leaders in Abuja, the acting governor is also reaching out to certain members of the House of Assembly. Right now, he is in a state of panic. The impact of the false information he received regarding the governor’s health has caused a lot of trouble.
“Not only him, even the Chief of Staff, who believed the governor would not make it, is now running around. The Chief of Staff, Ale, completely disregarded the governor, to the point where he took over the responsibilities of the Deputy Chief of Staff in the office of the deputy governor.”

Breaking: Court Adjourns In Fresh Suit Filed Against Emefiele By FG
The federal government of Nigeria on Thursday arraigned the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele before a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court.
Naija News reports Emefiele was arranged before Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT high court in Maitama on a 20-count charge of illegal procurement.
The arraignment over N6.9 billion alleged procurement fraud was however stalled due to the absence of the first and second defendants who are said to be indisposed.
Emefiele himself was however present in court.
Following an application for adjournment, the Presiding Judge, Justice Hamza Muazu adjourned the matter to August 23, 2023.

U.S. court sets August 23 deadline for Tinubu to justify why Chicago university records should not be released to Atiku Abubakar

President Bola Tinubu has until August 23 to present persuasive arguments as to why Chicago State University should not be ordered to release his academic records to Atiku Abubakar, his rival in the February 25 Nigerian presidential election, according to court filings
This deadline was imposed on August 9 by Jeffrey Gilbert, the new magistrate judge assigned to the case at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago.
Mr Abubakar, earlier this month, requested court approval to subpoena Mr Tinubu’s files domiciled with CSU because he believed the documents would clarify glaring inconsistencies in Mr Tinubu’s background, including publicly-available documents that suggested the CSU in the 1970s admitted a female student bearing Bola Tinubu who was born on March 29, 1954.
The Nigerian president said he was born on March 29, 1952, although he had also, at different times, listed 1954 as his birth year in the past. He also recently expunged his primary and secondary education from his records after it was discovered that the schools he listed under oath in his 1999 run for Lagos governor did not exist anywhere in Nigeria. Mr Abubakar believed the requested records would show which early and high school papers Mr Tinubu submitted to CSU before he was admitted to study accounting there.
Shortly after Mr Abubakar approached the court for the records, Mr Tinubu promptly filed a motion to thwart the request from being granted, citing a U.S. privacy law for students.
But the court appeared interested in allowing the case to proceed after Mr Abubakar argued it has a valid jurisdiction. The judge has now set a deadline mandating Mr Tinubu to submit his argument by August 23 as to why CSU must keep his records from Mr Abubakar, filings showed.
Additionally, the U.S. court ordered Mr Abubakar to respond to Mr Tinubu’s argument by September 9 —- two weeks after Mr Tinubu’s response was anticipated. The timeline showed the court was racing to rule on the matter before September 21, when Nigeria’s election petitions tribunal would likely deliver its judgement in the suit challenging Mr Tinubu’s election victory.
Mr Tinubu’s questionable academic history is merely one of several grounds that Mr Abubakar’s lawyers are pursuing in Nigerian courts to nullify his declaration as president and eligibility to stand for election in future. Claims ranging from narcotics dealing to money laundering and election fraud are also being argued.
Mr Tinubu, who was sworn in as Nigerian president on May 29, has insisted he was the one who attended CSU; while dismissing his 1990s narcotics scandal as a civil forfeiture proceeding that should not carry any criminal implications for his political ambition.
NASS Clerk Disowns Akpabio, Reveals Source Of Money Wired To All Senators
Management of the National Assembly has denied paying a holiday largesse to senators contrary to the disclosure by the senate president, Godswill Akpabio, during a Senate plenary.
The parliament bureaucracy said the N2million it paid to each senator was a statutory running cost of their offices, which was captured in the 2023 budget, and not for a jamboree or vacation as being insinuated.
LEADERSHIP reports that Akpabio had penultimate Monday night at the tail-end of a special plenary session after the Senate completed the screening and confirmation of President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominees, openly informed senators that the CNA, Magaji Tambuwal, had wired money into their individual bank accounts in order to enjoy their annual holiday.
“In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clerk of the National Assembly…,” Akpabio had said amid interruptions from senators, who were apparently dissatisfied with his public disclosure for fear of a backlash.
The development forced the senate president to pause a bit and thereafter withdraw the statement for the record and rephrased the same information.
“In order to enjoy your holidays, the Senate President has sent prayers to your mailboxes to assist you to go on a safe journey and return,” Akpabio had said jocularly in the alternative to calm down frayed nerves.
Nigerians, however, took to social media to berate the senate president and his colleagues for allegedly feeding fat on the nation’s commonwealth at a time the majority of Nigerians were facing economic challenges occasioned by the federal government’s policy of petrol subsidy removal, among others.
Some also wondered why political officeholders would enjoy perks of office to the fullest while President Bola Tinubu was asking ordinary Nigerians to sacrifice.
But a statement signed by the secretary, research & information on behalf of the clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Dr. Ali B. Umoru, yesterday, a copy of which was obtained by LEADERSHIP, said the N2 million payment to the lawmakers was not a new development or privilege, but an entitlement backed by the Appropriation Law for the running of their offices.
“The attention of the Management of the National Assembly has been drawn to the persistent mischaracterisation and misunderstanding of the payment of a N2,000,000 allowance to each senator.
“It should be noted that the N2 million is part of the running cost of the office of each senator as provided for in the 2023 budget.
“The allocation for running costs is not a new development; it has been a standard practice. These funds are utilised to facilitate various activities that directly contribute to effective representation, legislative activities and other initiatives aimed at serving the interests of the people.
“For the avoidance of doubt, and for emphasis, the said allowances were budgeted for in the 2023 Appropriation Act as part of the running cost of the office of each Senator of the 10th Assembly. The allowances are therefore an entitlement and not a privilege or largesse distributed to the Senators.
“However, given the wrong impression the subject matter has created, it has become imperative to make this clarification and put the records straight,” Umoru stated.
He reiterated that the National Assembly remains committed to transparency and accountability in the management of public funds, adding that, “We appreciate the continued support and understanding of the Nigerian people as we work together to uphold the principles of democracy and good governance.”

Ex-APC Vice Chairman, Lukman Speaks On Why El-Rufai Was Not Cleared As Minister
The former National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has reacted to the drama around the ministerial nomination of ex-governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
Lukman, in reaction to the objections to El-Rufai confirmation, described it as overplayed politics.

has maintained her rejection of a Muslim-Muslim presidency in Nigeria.
The preacher, who spoke while addressing her congregation recently, said it was wrong for Christians to move on with the new development in the country’s leadership.
Naija News reports that despite opposition and outcry from some Christian bodies and concerned Nigerians against the Muslim-Muslim ticket adopted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 general election, the party’s presidential candidate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima, were declared winners of the February 25 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The duo were subsequently sworn in on May 29, 2023. Since then, the outcry on the Muslim-Muslim president has faded out gradually from public discourse.
Addressing her congregation, however, Pastor Omakwu said: “I have noticed that Nigerians have moved on politically. We have accepted what has become. On one side of our mouth, we said we did not want a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
“And then on another side of our mouth, we have accepted it, and we are going on. So, I came to say, no, we can’t accept it. This government is still Muslim-Muslim. And some of you have accepted it. You are even wishing that somebody you know would be made minister. Ministers over what? Ministers over illegality?

Ex-aide to former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, Sam Amadi on Tuesday spoke amidst anticipation of the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).
Amadi in a post on his Twitter account predicted what will happen if the Tribunal disqualifies President Bola Tinubu who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in the February 25, 2023 presidential election.
According to Amadi, heaven will not fall if the tribunal disqualifies President Tinubu, adding that heaven as well will not fail if he is affirmed the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
Naija News understands that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi are currently challenging Tinubu’s victory.
The presidential candidates are also challenging the declaration of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the 2023 presidential election.
He called for justice to be done in the ruling of the presidential tribunal.
Amadi wrote, “If d PEPT rightly rules that Tinubu stays heaven will not fall
“If d PEPT rightly rules that Tinubu is disqualified, heaven will not fall.
“Let justice be done. That’s all that matters.
“Let all parties advocate their views freely

BREAKING: FG files 20 charges against Emefiele in Abuja, seeks to withdraw Lagos case
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) at the Federal Ministry of Justice Mohammed Bakodo Abubakar told Justice Nicholas Oweibo that the application followed the result of further investigations.
The Federal Government Tuesday applied to withdraw the “illegal possession of firearms” case it filed against the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, at the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) at the Federal Ministry of Justice Mohammed Bakodo Abubakar told Justice Nicholas Oweibo that the application followed the result of further investigations.
He made his application orally.
But defence counsel Joseph Daudu (SAN) opposed him, arguing that because the government was in disobedience of the court’s order granting Emefiele bail, its application could not be taken.
The judge had on July 25, admitted Emefiele to a N20million bail on a two-count charge of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and ordered his remand at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.
But the DSS rearrested the embattled bank chief after fighting off NCoS officials on the court’s premises.
The Nation gathered that the government has filed fresh charges against Emefiele in Abuja.
Speaking with journalists after the day’s proceedings Mr. Abubakar said the fresh charges – with 20 counts – were filed at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.
One of the counts accuses Emefiele of “conferring unlawful advantages”.

‘This Is Not How To Be President’ – Reno Omokri Frowns At Tinubu’s Silence On Nigerians Calling For Military Coup
Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has expressed displeasure at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s silence on Nigerians calling for a military coup in the country.
The report came out that,since the military coup in Niger Republic, some Nigerians have claimed there is no difference when compared to the incident that occurred during the 2023 election, which many tagged ‘Election Coup’.
Amidst the proposed plans of President Tinubu, alongside the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), to restore democracy in Niger Republic, many Nigerians have kicked against it.
In a post via Twitter on Sunday, Reno Omokri asserted that Tinubu is showing too much weakness regarding prominent citizens and social media influencers calling for a military coup in Nigeria.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain referred to how someone threatened the United States President, Joe Biden and was killed by the FBI.
However, some Nigerians are flagrantly calling for a military coup and are still allowed to get away with such abuse of freedom of speech.
Reno added that President Tinubu’s niceness on the issue is not a virtue in leadership.
He tweeted, “President Tinubu is showing too much weakness. How can there be a military coup in your next-door neighbour, and prominent citizens, as well as influencers, are calling for a coup in the traditional and social media, and they are still sleeping in their houses?
“Someone threatened to kill President Biden, and the FBI shot him dead the next day, and there are people openly and flagrantly calling for a military coup in Nigeria and 24 hours later, they are still sleeping in their bed? Ha! Tinubu, this is not how to be a President! In leadership, weakness is wickedness. Nobody should get away with that kind of abuse of freedom of speech.
“Nobody! Niceness is not a virtue in a leader. It is a vice. If you are an emir and you call for a coup, deposition and exile straight. If you are a regular citizen and call for a coup, automatic treason trial. You will eat one-week-old bread and water in the DSS underground cell until your trial. We fought hard for this democracy and should not allow ANYONE to derail it.”

BREAKING: Niger Coup Leaders Agree to Negotiations with Tinubu-Led ECOWAS
The military junta in the Niger Republic has reportedly opened for dialogue with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the development comes after a team of Islamic scholars from Nigeria met with the junta leaders in Niamey.
The scholars, who were sent by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reportedly convinced the junta to reconsider its position and open to negotiations with ECOWAS.
ECOWAS had imposed sanctions on Niger after the coup, and had warned that it would use force if the junta did not reverse its actions. The junta had rejected a previous offer of dialogue from ECOWAS, but it appears to have been swayed by the intervention of the Nigerian scholars.
In a statement, the leader of the Nigerian scholars, Sheik Bala Lau, said that the junta leaders were “pained” that ECOWAS had not heard their side of the story before imposing sanctions. He said that the junta was now willing to talk to ECOWAS and to work towards a resolution of the crisis.
The prime minister of Niger, Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, confirmed that the junta had given the green light for talks with ECOWAS. He said that he hoped that the talks would take place in the next few days and that the sanctions would be lifted.
‘’We have agreed and the leader of our country has given the green light for dialogue. They will now go back and inform the Nigerian President what they have heard from us…. we hope in the coming days, they (ECOWAS) will come here to meet us to discuss how the sanctions imposed against us will be lifted,’’ he said.

ECOWAS military chiefs suspend key meeting on Niger coup as fears mount

The military meeting was scheduled to take place in Ghana’s capital city, Accra.
The meeting of Chiefs of Staff from the ECOWAS bloc countries was scheduled to be held in Ghana’s capital Accra, on Saturday, August 12, 12023.
But, regional military sources had said on Friday that the summit has been suspended indefinitely for “technical reasons”.
The sources added that the meeting was originally set up to inform the organisation’s leaders about “the best options” for activating and deploying the ECOWAS standby force.
This development followed the regional body’s resolution to muster its standby force for possible deployment in Niger to reinstate the country’s deposed president, Mohamed Bazoum.
Fears have also grown over the safety of Bazoum whose conditions were said to be deteriorating in detention.
However, since making the declaration at its Extraordinary meeting in Abuja on Thursday, August 10, 2023, ECOWAS has yet to roll out details on the force or timetable for action, and leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, have emphasised they still want a peaceful solution.
Meanwhile, the last-minute cancellation came as thousands of pro-coup Nigeriens staged a rally near the French military base in the country on Friday.
Protesters near the base on the outskirts of the capital Niamey shouted: “Down with France, down with ECOWAS”.
Niger’s junta, led by Gen Abdourahmane Tchiani, has accused France, a close Bazoum ally, of being behind the hardline ECOWAS stance against the coup.

Orji Uzor Kalu, the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to allow the United States of America (USA) and France to compel him to launch military action against the Niger Republic’s Junta.
This appeal comes after ECOWAS declared immediate military action against the Junta during a Thursday summit in Abuja, Nigeria.
The former Senate majority whip expressed his concerns during an interview that he posted on his verified Facebook page.
According to him, both the United States and France want Nigeria to join the war, but the President should ignore their wishes because going to war is not the best option.
The United States wants us to go to war. France wants us to go to war. Why don’t they put their soldiers and go to war? We will give them the money to fight. Let them go to war on their own. We can not go to war. This war is in our backyard. I plead with the president to listen to the voice of the Senate. The Senate has said no and I’m joining the Senate and I join the majority of Nigerians telling President Tinubu not to go to war for the sake of brotherhood and the sake of Africa, he said.
Kalu advised that instead of resorting to war, the focus should be on giving the Juntas a specific time frame to present a plan outlining how they intend to return to democracy.
I don’t think it is a good idea to go to war. What they should tell the Juntas to do now is to give us a Democratic transition plan for one year, six months or two years to return to democracy, he said.
He emphasized that the war has no connection to Nigerians, adding that no Nigerian soldier should lose their life due to this conflict.
I don’t think any Nigerian soldier’s death is good enough to be killed for another country. It is not our war. It is an internal problem of the Niger people. We have nothing to gain.
However, he disclosed that if not going to the war will cost Nigeria her membership in ECOWAS, President Tinubu should be ready to withdraw from the organization.
He said;
Nobody should attempt to take us into war. We cannot go to war with Naija at all. If it means pulling out of ECOWAS, Nigeria should pull out of ECOWAS if that is ECOWAS’s decision. We are a sovereign nation. Nobody can toil with 250 million Nigerians. It is not possible.

The Labour Party (LP) has refuted claims that its supporters threatened judges reviewing the petition of Peter Obi against the election results favouring Bola Tinubu.
According to National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concocted the story to tarnish the LP’s image and stir unrest.
He described a circulating photo as a ploy “to distract from APC’s open intimidating remarks.”
LP highlighted remarks by Tinubu’s legal team, which suggested potential chaos if Tinubu’s election was overturned.
The party firmly believes the judges “will fulfil their statutory responsibilities based on the law and weight of evidence.”
The statement reads, “As such LP did not need any threat, to secure the delivery of substantive justice.
“It is increasingly evident that the ruling party is afraid of its shadow and the truth, and is as busy fabricating and labelling the Labour Party to curry imaginary favour.
“The discerning public should disregard this dubious label of LP because they know who is panicking and trying to create anarchy in the land to remain in power at all costs.
“We, therefore wish to reiterate our belief in the sanctity of our jurisprudence and expect that justice will be served based on nothing short of what the constitution and extant law says and not via the troll mechanism or devious acts of the ruling party that is desperate to cling to power without the people’s mandate.”

“We Will Hold Russia Responsible” – ECOWAS Speaks on Wagner Group’s Involvement in Niger
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has warned Russia that it will hold the country accountable if the Wagner Group, a private military contractor, violates human rights in Niger.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the warning comes in the wake of the recent coup in Niger, which some analysts believe may have been supported by the Wagner Group.
ECOWAS Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Ambassador Abdel-Fatau Musah, said that the bloc would not tolerate any human rights abuses by the Wagner Group in Niger.
“We want to take them by their word, which means any sort of action that infringes on human rights or yeah, or devastation in our region by these private military contractors, we are going to hold the other countries of our region responsible for that,” Musah said while appearing on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily Friday.
Musah also pointed out that private military companies have a history of human rights abuses in Africa.
“Private military companies were involved in Sierra Leone. They were involved in Liberia during those civil wars, long ago. And even recently in the global conflict, there has been the use of private military companies,” he said.
“The Americans are using them in Iraq; in Afghanistan, they use them, and others. What we are seeing is that these groups are not acceptable in Africa, even though they are there and we are going to hold their countries of origin responsible for any violations.”
The ECOWAS commissioner also highlighted the current involvement of Western forces in Niger, including France and the European Union (EU). He said the region had also seen an influx of Middle Eastern nations, such as Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, in addition to Russia and China.
“What we are saying is that we are not going to allow West Africa to be an arena of proxy wars again. And that is our attitude to Wagner. It is not our option,” he said.
“We do not want private military companies interfering in the conflict environment in the region because we know the consequences of their action.”

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, have arrived Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to attend the burial of the late Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Sunday Mbang.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the two leaders were received at the airport by former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel.
In a social media post, Emmanuel said Obasanjo was in excellent health and that he was happy that he was able to come down to pay his last respects to his friend, the late Prelate Mbang.
Obasanjo and Obi are expected to attend the funeral service for the late Prelate Mbang, which will be held at the Methodist Church Cathedral, 45 Liverpool Road, Eket, today.
Mbang served as President of the World Methodist Council and National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
