Over 500,000 Nigerian Students Fail English, Mathematics In 2024 WASSCE
According to Amos Dangut, Head of WAEC’s Nigeria Office, the results show a concerning trend of poor performance in core subjects.
The 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results have revealed that a total of 503,275 candidates failed to pass English Language and Mathematics.
This represents a significant portion of the 1.8 million students who sat for the examination.
According to Amos Dangut, Head of WAEC’s Nigeria Office, the results show a concerning trend of poor performance in core subjects.
The failure rate in English and Mathematics has raised concerns about the quality of education and the preparedness of students for higher learning.
Amos Dangut said out of the 1,805,216 who sat for the examination, only 1,301,941 candidates obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects including English language and mathematics.
He stressed that 1,301,941 candidates obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects including English language and mathematics at 72.12 per cent, revealing a 7.69 per cent drop in performance compared to 79.81 per cent recorded in 2023.
He said, “The analysis of statistics of candidates’ performance in the examination shows that out of the 1,805,216 candidates that sat the examination, 1,332,089 candidates, representing 73.79%, obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects (i.e. with or without English Language and/or Mathematics).
“A total of 1,301,941 candidates, representing 72.12%, obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. Of this number, 628,820 i.e. 48.30% were male candidates, while 673,121 i.e. 51.70% were female candidates.
“A comparison of the percentage of candidates in this category in WASSCE for School 2023 and 2024, reveals that in this year’s (2024) WASSCE, there is 7.69% decrease in performance (that is, those who obtained credit and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, was 79.81%),” he said.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that the regional examination body on Monday morning released the results of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination across Nigeria and withheld results of 215,267 candidates (representing 11.92 percent of the total) in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.
This was announced by the Examination Body via its X handle, urging all the candidates to visit their official website to check their results.
“The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform Candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024 that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 12, 2024,” WAEC announced.
Nollywood actress cum politician, Tonto Dikeh has stirred controversy on social media after urging Nigerians to reconsider their plans for a nationwide protest scheduled from August 1-10, 2024
Taking to her Instagram page, Tonto Dikeh expressed understanding of the widespread frustration and economic hardships Nigerians are currently facing, including a significant increase in market prices.
The actress, however, acknowledged the difficulties many citizens endure but advised that a nationwide protest might not be the most effective way to address the issues.
According to her, her reasons were coined from the experiences during the EndSARS protests, where she claimed that ill-minded individuals hijacked the movement, leading to violence and loss of lives.
Tonto Dikeh proposed an alternative approach: forming a representative group to negotiate directly with President Bola Tinubu.
She emphasized the need for peaceful and diplomatic solutions to address the economic challenges faced by the country.
Tonto Dikeh’s statement reads: “Sometimes we can be right, but our mode of expression is what matters. This is an honest plea to all Nigerian youths. Let’s make smart choices,”
Her statement has however garnered strong criticism from many Nigerians on social media stating that her call for dialogue is a distraction from the urgent need for direct action.
They voiced concerns that the proposed representatives could be susceptible to corruption and fail to address the real issues facing ordinary citizens.

427 ghost workers uncovered in Anambra
The Anambra State Local Government Service Commission said it has discovered over 427 ghost workers earning salaries from the state government without being staff members.
The Chairman of the Commission, Vin Ezeaka, disclosed this to journalists in Awka, the Anambra state capital, on Friday.
Ezeaka said the commission also discovered that six senior employees at the various local government areas forged their certificates, claiming they were issued by the Imo State University.
He said 59 among the ghost workers were employees of the commission who died a long time ago, 40 had retired but were still on the state payroll, while 11 others were living abroad.
He said, “The discovery was made during a staff personnel audit launched to sanitise the local government system in the state. In the process, over 427 workers were discovered to have been on the local government payroll without being staffed.
“Out of the 427 ‘ghost workers’ uncovered, 59 were staff of the Commission who had died a long time ago, 40 others had retired and are still on the payroll of the commission, while about 11 others were staff living abroad whose names were still on the payroll of the government.
“Others were some staff members of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe. We also discovered 222 workers on the payroll who nobody could identify as workers in any of the 21 LGAs and we have many of them living abroad and still receiving salaries.
“So we wrote to the Joint Account, JAC to remove them from the payroll. Some of them have come to voluntarily retire, but we refused because you can’t cheat the government and want to retire.
“We are going to finish our investigation and those we caught in this unholy act will face the full wrath of the law in accordance with civil service rules.”
Ezeaka further said, “Apart from this discovery, made at the end of May 2024, we descended on the certificate racketeering cartel within the local government system. We set up a committee which came up with reports of people with suspicious certificates working in various local government areas of Anambra State and we then set up a screening committee that indicted so many of them.
“Those indicted were identified and we started investigating the certificates they presented to the committee and went as far as going to the universities whose certificates they brandished and out of the 20 persons who tendered Imo State University certificates, we screened 14 so far, where we discovered that six out of the 14 were fake certificates.
Our law on same sex marriage supersedes Samoa agreement – FG

The Federal Government has confirmed signing Samoa agreement, saying the law on same sex marriage supersedes the agreement.
The agreement reportedly has some clauses that compel underdeveloped and developing nations to support the agitations by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community for recognition, as condition for getting financial and other supports from advanced societies.
Named after the Pacific Island Samoa, where it was signed, the agreement is gradually gaining traction, despite opposition by many countries that cherish Islamic and Christianity values, in addition to the sensitivity of their cultures.
The issue has generated controversy, with some clerics and human rights activists, criticising the government over the agreement.
But in a statement on Thursday night, Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information, gave further clarity to issues on the agreement.
“On 28 June 2024, Nigeria signed the Samoa Agreement at the Organisation of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) Secretariat in Brussels, Belgium. The partnership agreement is between the EU and its Member States, on one hand, and the members of the OACPS on the other.”
“Negotiations on the agreement started in 2018, on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly. It was signed in Apia, Samoa on the 15th of November 2018 by all 27 EU Member states and 47 of the 79 OACPS Member states.
“The agreement has 103 articles comprising a common foundational compact and three regional protocols, namely: Africa –EU; Caribbean-EU, and Pacific-EU Regional Protocols with each regional protocol addressing the peculiar issues of the regions.
“The African Regional Protocol consists of two parts. The first is the Framework for Cooperation, while the second deals with Areas of Cooperation, containing Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth and Development; Human and Social Development; Environment, Natural Resources Management, and Climate Change; Peace and Security; Human Rights, Democracy and Governance; and Migration and Mobility.
“Nigeria signed the Agreement on Friday 28 June 2024. This was done after the extensive reviews and consultations by the Interministerial Committee, convened by the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning (FMBEP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Federal Ministry of Justice (FMOJ). It was ensured that none of the 103 Articles and Provisions of the Agreement contravenes the 1999 Constitution as amended or laws of Nigeria, and other extant Laws.
:In addition, Nigeria’s endorsement was accompanied by a Statement of Declaration, dated 26th June 2024, clarifying its understanding and context of the Agreement within its jurisdiction to the effect that any provision that is inconsistent with the laws of Nigeria shall be invalid. It is instructive to note that there is an existing legislation against same sex relationship in Nigeria enacted in 2014.
“It is necessary to assure Nigerians that the President Bola Tinubu Administration, being a rule-based government will not enter into any international agreement that will be detrimental to the interest of the country and its citizens. In negotiating the Agreement, our officials strictly followed the mandates exchanged in 2018 between the EU and the OACPS for the process.
“The Samoa Agreement is nothing but a vital legal framework for cooperation between the OACPS and the European Union, to promote sustainable development, fight climate change and its effects, generate investment opportunities, and foster collaboration among OACPS Member States at the international stage.”
NWAOBAKATA: Notorious Security Commander Caught With Human Skulls, 7 Others Nabbed Amid Rivers Crisis
The Rivers State Police Command has announced the arrest of Felix Nwaobakata, commander of a local vigilante group, along with seven other members of the outfit, following disturbing discoveries and criminal activities in Omoku, the headquarters of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area.
Nwaobakata, identified as the head of the ONELGA Security and Peace Advisory Committee (OSPAC), was apprehended at his hideout where police found two human skulls and other human body parts. According to Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson for the State Police Command, Nwaobakata is a key suspect in the murder of two brothers from Idu Community on May 1, 2024, allegedly accused of kidnapping.
The police statement highlighted ongoing complaints about OSPAC’s operations, particularly in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, and recent clashes with law enforcement agencies. It detailed an incident where OSPAC attempted an attack on a police division in Omoku but was repelled by the police.
In response to escalating tensions, tactical units raided the OSPAC camp in Omoku, leading to the arrest of Cheta Benjamin, Joshua Ekwosa, Innocent Ahiakwu, and four others. Subsequently, Nwaobakata was apprehended at his hiding place on June 17, 2024, where incriminating evidence, including human remains, was discovered.
The police also linked Nwaobakata to the murders of Collins Ugorji and Newman Ugorji, with allegations that OSPAC confiscated their motorcycles and brought their bodies to the OSPAC headquarters in Omoku.
The Rivers State Police Command affirmed its commitment to curbing the excesses of vigilante groups in the state, emphasizing the need for lawful conduct and accountability within such organizations
Why Moses Bliss Married From Ghana And Not Nigeria=Reno Omokri
Why Moses Bliss married from Ghana and not Nigeria – Reno Omokri::::::
Controversial media personality, Reno Omokri expresses his views on why the notable Nigerian gospel singer, Moses Bliss married a woman from Ghana and not one from his country.
It would be recalled that the couple tied the knot some days ago in a glamourous way, pulling attendance of Nigerian celebrities to the sister country.
Speaking on possible reasons Moses Bliss chose to marry from Ghana rather than Nigeria, Reno Omokri shared his experience during a short stay in Ghana.
Omokri revealed that their women tend to be more relatable compared to many Nigerian women. He also noted that in Ghana, as well as some other countries, women are capable of loving without expecting monetary compensation from men.
Furthermore, he highlighted that if Nigeria had visa-free or visa-on-arrival access, there would likely be a surge in unmarried women in Nigeria.
This is because many Nigerian men travel within Africa and, upon encountering beautiful women who are not solely motivated by money, they may develop a preference for them over Nigerian women.
“I can understand why Moses Bliss married a Ghanaian. I have been to Ghana, and their women tend to be easier to relate with than many Southern Nigerian women.
“In fact, is love without billing still possible in Southern Nigeria? In our part of the world, ‘He is loving’ means ‘He is spending’. When you tell many Southern Nigerian girls, ‘I love you’, they hear, ‘You owe me’. Especially those with Industrial Money Obtainer culture.
“If Nigeria had visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to more countries, there would be an epidemic of unmarried women in Nigeria. Because when Southern Nigerian men travel within Africa and outside Africa and encounter beautiful women who are not money conscious, they quickly lose their appetite for Nigerian women. Already, Nigerian men are considered a catch by South African and Kenyan women.
“We urgently need a cultural reorientation amongst our women. Especially in Southern Nigeria. The monetisation of relationships in Southern Nigeria is just too suffocating. I am well-traveled, and I am yet to see the level of commercialisation of romance I have seen in Southern Nigeria. I call it as I see it!”

Don’t Give All Your Money To Church, Remember The Poor, Kumuyi Counsels Christians
He made the call in a recent message titled, ‘Emmanuel Jesus the healer’.
Kumuyi expressed great concern for the poor and the hungry, even as he urged the leaders of the church to bring to his attention those who need help so the church could reach out to them.
He cited the example of a pastor who called for an offering, but later asked the congregation to give the money they wanted to give to the church to the poor.
The pastor, according to him, had asked for those who could give various amounts of money.
“I learnt of a preacher somewhere. He told his congregation, ‘Now, we are going to collect offerings’. He asked those who had N10,000 to give to raise their hands, and he asked those who had N20,000 to give to raise their hands.
“He asked those who had N50,000, they raised their hands. And he said all the money they wanted to give to the church, they should go and give to the poor in their neighbourhood, rather than bringing it to the church.”
Kumuyi told the congregation that they should always make the poor and hungry a priority in their giving adding that it makes no sense to give to a church building when the people inside are hungry.
He said, “All the offerings are not just for church. There are poor people around. There are unemployed people around.
“There are indigent people around. But we must build our campground. I understand. We are going to build. But while you are building your neighbours are dying. Those who do not have anything to feed are there. Your fellow brother, your fellow sister have nothing to send children to school.”
Kumuyi said the church will begin to budget millions of naira for the poor as the church used to do in the “good old days”

Video of Emefiele Being Moved To Kuje Prison
Justice Hamza Muazu had on November 17 ordered that Emefiele be remanded in Kuje prison pending the determination of his request for bail.
A video has surfaced online showing former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele being moved to the Kuje Correctional Centre.
He was moved to Kuje Prison after
Justice Hamza Muazu of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, earlier today November 17 ordered that he be remanded in Kuje prison pending the determination of his request for bail.
The Federal Government arraigned Emefiele on a six-count charge bordering on alleged procurement. The original charge, which was 20 counts to the tune of N6.5 billion, has been reduced to six, to the tune of N1.6 billion. Emefiele is the only defendant in the new charge. According to the amended charge sheet, the charges still border on procurement fraud.
The Federal Government alleged that Emefiele illegally bought 43 vehicles between 2018 and 2020 worth N1.2 billion. He was also accused of awarding a contract for the procurement of 37 Toyota Hilux Vehicles valued at N854 million.
When the charges were read to him, he pleaded not guilty.
Emefiele will remain in Kuje prison until November 22 when his bail motion will be heard.

JUST IN JIM IYK ADDRESSES QUESTION ABOUT NADIA BUARI
‘I didn’t want to disrespect her husband’ – Jim Iyke addresses question about Nadia Buari
Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke has explained why he denied his ex-girlfriend and colleague, Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari.
Recall that in a recent interview, Jim Iyke was questioned about the romantic relationship with his purported ex-girlfriend, Nadia Buari, and he quizzed the host with the “Who is that?” response.
According to the actor, in an interview with Starr Drive FM in his defence, claimed that glorifying such conversations about his previous relationship with Nadia Buari is disrespectful to both his current partner and Nadia’s husband.
He further added that his response was also done out of respect, not to offend a married woman and her four children.
His words: “The understanding of that segment is that when asked a difficult question and you refuse to answer, you sip tea. Even if alcohol was there at that point, I would take it. If I answer this question anyway, it will be a lose-lose.
If I were to glorify these conversations and say certain things about them, it would be to the detriment of the person I am with and also of the person she is with.
“Which husband wants to hear about an ex talking sexually explicitly with the person he is with, and people don’t understand that (my response) this was an act of respect?
“Who is that?” response, “I didn’t want to offend a married woman with four children, so it was better to leave the past in the past. I must respect both my current partner and Nadia’s husband.”
Iyke also stated that he never intended to disrespect both parties, knowing fully well that it happened over a decade ago, and he’s not the person to arm the court of public opinion with the gossip it needs to talk about people.

In his words:
“I had pretty much lived my dream, I had done every single thing I wanted to do in music, I had won awards, I had toured the world, I had had hit records, and when I put out the last body of work that I did, it did not get the response that I was expecting,” he said.
“I have always wanted to make film so for me, that was the next evolution in my career. So I had to make a conscious decision, say you know what? I have given music time, I can always go back to it if I want to but I want to give time into this film but then while doing that as well, I am also a gamer.
“I happened to be in America at a gaming conference and I realised that gaming was a $3 billion industry, the gaming industry makes more money than music and film combined. So I said to myself why are we dulling on this in Africa? So I came back and I started a company to build the Nigerian gaming echo system.”

Reps Vow To Secure Singer Mohbad’s Compensation, Royalties
The House of Representatives has assured that it will ensure the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, receives proper compensation and royalties from his music work.
Chairman of the House Committee on Justice, Hon. Olumide Osoba, made the commitment at an interactive session on the rights and royalties related to Mohbad’s music.
This was in compliance with a motion of urgent public importance moved last week by Hon. Babajimi Benson (APC, Lagos) to secure the royalties of Mohbad’s song.
Osoba emphasised the need of securing compensation and royalties, acknowledging that the payments were essential sources of income for musicians.
He said such will enable artists to sustain their careers, create new music, and build a future within the industry, adding that the current system often falls short in adequately protecting and providing for young musicians concerning their royalty rights.
Osoba said many emerging artists face challenges when negotiating fair royalty agreements, particularly when dealing with major record labels, which often wield significant power and can impose unfavourable terms, resulting in artists receiving only a fraction of the royalties they deserve.
He said: “It is crucial to recognise that young musicians are often not well-informed about their rights when entering into contracts.”
The lawmaker said such knowledge gap places them at a disadvantage position, as they may not fully understand the complex legal intricacies surrounding royalty rights.
According to him, to address these issues, it was vital to work towards implementing stronger regulations and support systems the industry.
This includes advocating for more transparent and standardised contracts for all artists, irrespective of their age or experience, to level the playing field and prevent the exploitation of young talent
“Additionally, there is a need to adapt the music industry to the digital age. While digital streaming platforms have revolutionized music consumption and distribution, young musicians often struggle to earn a substantial income due to outdated royalty structures.
“Advocating for revised royalty models that accurately reflect the value of music in the streaming era is essential,” Osoba stated.
He added that the committee was committed to this responsibility, adding that they have requested relevant information regarding the circumstances of Mohbad’s death and the measures in place to secure his royalties and other benefits.

My son did not enjoy himself. He lived in fear. He did not enjoy himself.
“Whenever I visit him here, he sits right there and I’ll sit with him, then take him upstairs to sleep but he’ll be shaking his head. Ghana, Liberia, and Cameroon Need Nigeria As long As they Keep Believing In musi
Ghana, Liberia, and Cameroon need Nigeria as long as they keep believing in music.
Nigeria has been able to help the above countries I mention in one way to another as far as music or anything entertaining is concerned.
Why did I say Ghana, Liberia, and Cameroon have been benefiting a lot from Nigeria in music or anything entertaining, Looking critically at any popular artist in Ghana, Liberia, And Cameroon have benefited streams, ideas, and ways of marketing music from Nigerians.
You can’t tell me that JZyNo, Libianca, and Sarkodie who are getting massive waves in their recently released songs didn’t pass through the hands of Nigerians support. Both gained Nigerians massive support before their songs were able to go this viral.
Shatta Wale from Ghana dreams of getting signed by any Nigerian upcoming music record label because he believes that Ghana isn’t supporting artists like the way Nigerians are doing. Calling Nigerians the Giant of Africa is what we all need to do because they deserve it.
Mohbad Passes NECO on First Sitting Ex-principal Said
Mohbad passed NECO at one sitting, I don’t know why he joined Naira Marley — Ex-principal:::::
Abidemi Faboye, the proprietor and principal of Abifab College, Ikorodu, Lagos, the secondary school Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, attended in an interview with Punch talks about the memories he has of the late singer.
Excerpt below….
How would you describe Mohbad?
I knew him when he enrolled in my school in 2013. His elder sister, Blessing, also graduated from the school in 2013. He was brought from a public school, and he was a quiet boy. He was tall and slim. It was years after secondary school that he added weight.
Did you know he was a member of the Marlian group?
When I heard that he was a member of the Marlian group, I was surprised. I doubted if he could cope with such group. Although he was mature, I felt he must have mixed with a few others who joined the record label. I prayed that God would be with him, because after he left school, we did not communicate regularly.
Did he show any sign of his musical talent while he was in school?
Many of us, including the teachers who taught him, were surprised. When we heard about Imole, we were all surprised. I was not familiar with afrobeats music, until one day, my daughter told me, ‘Do you know Uncle Promise is now Mohbad?’ I took my phone and chatted with him via Messenger. He then gave me his number. His dad is a carpenter, and as a student, he often assisted his dad. He learnt carpentry from his father, who is also a pastor.
Back then, I noticed then that whenever school closed, he did not usually stay for up to five minutes, before going home. His house was a bit far from the school, so I always thought he wanted to get back home on time. He was active in the school’s music club. During quiz competitions, he would lead with songs.
When he rose to fame; sometimes, I would call him, and he wouldn’t pick up his calls. But, he would call me back and say, “Sir, I am in the studio rehearsing.” He was busy with his music, and he told me that immediately he had inspirations, he would write down the lyrics in a jotter and later develop them.
When he became popular, I was very happy that I had somebody who was not a doctor or pilot, but a musician. He was a real imole (light) of afrobeats music.
He was a child of promise; a star. Before his death, he got to a level where if one tuned in to any radio station, one would hear his songs. When people learnt that he passed through this school, they began to ask how I coped with him. It was after his death that people got to know he was a product of Abifab College. Now, I receive condolences as if I was his biological father. His seniors and juniors call me from different places, including the United Kingdom, expressing their condolences. He was a star that we lost too early.

Bullying: Yomi Fabiyi APOLOGIZES to Yul Edochie:::::
Yoruba Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi has publicly apologized to Yul Edochie over his outburst on celebrities and Nigerians seeking justice for late Mohbad.
According to him, the same bullying that was done to Mohbad is the same bullying many of his colleagues and internet trolls have been doing to him for marrying a second wife over a year ago, without hearing his side of the story.
Reacting to it, Yomi Fabiyi in a lengthy post on his Instagram page apologised to Yul, he wrote;
”FORGIVE ME @yuledochie I have conscience and it arrest me whenever I am wrong. I corrected people offline on their choice of words and actions online that I see as extreme bullying on you.
Bullying is evil and unacceptable but then you will agree with me that any event to touch on that aspect alone will attract opposition from even you. I put it to you that you will be the first to think one is using your case to chase clout. You won’t understand that some of us are into some things outside movie making and we are passionate and sincere about it.
BULLYING online and offline is anti-social, demonic, criminal and unacceptable. My own silence online about it is because of YOU more and my experience with other artist that I have encountered. The moment you give a voice, their ego and delusion is always out of here and too blatant. The colleague start feeling too important and thinks you helped because you want to use them to make name or money. So disgusting.!
Some will be so proud to respond while they enjoy the positive effect and where they react, it is for the moment. The time they find relief, they go back to default settings and you be the first they want to crush. And then I am careful because some may see correction on bullying as hurting your wife May. Reality!
I feel the pain in your words and I am SORRY I didn’t do much. I salute your courage and please accept my condolences on your son.
Please at this stage, ask God for wisdom to deal with your fans, family members and the media. Trust me, one step towards humility and willingness to understand their standpoints(not the bullying part) is good for you, THE FANS ARE HUMANE and FORGIVEN. Much regards and trust me this too shall pass.
I am raised to have conscience and I know when to say to myself, no matter what “IT IS TIME TO STOP”. Even if someone commits crime, all we want is the person punished and corrected so when they re-unite with the society, they return a better person.
Valid! that decisions is not worth anyone dragging you into depression or loosing your life. Hang in there. I care. YOMI FABIYI”

LAGOS — The Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, in a landmark decision, yesterday, dismissed the petitions of the Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, and their candidates against the election of President Bola Tinubu.
The five-man panel, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, dismissed the petition of Mr Peter Obi of LP seeking to nullify Tinubu’s election.
It also dismissed APM’s petition seeking to disqualify the president over the invalid nomination of his running mate, Senate Kashim Shettima.
Obi’s petition dismissed
The PEPC, dismissed the allegation of the Labour Party, LP, and its candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, that the 2023 presidential election was rigged in favour of President Bola Tinubu.
The court, in its preliminary ruling that was delivered by Justice Abba Mohammed, held that Obi and the LP did not by way of credible evidence, establish their allegation that the February 25 election was characterized by manifest corrupt practices.
It held that though the petitioners alleged that the election was marred by irregularities, they, however, failed to give specific details of where the alleged infractions took place.
The court noted that whereas Obi and the LP insisted that the election was rigged in 18, 088 polling units across the federation, they were unable to state the locations of the said polling units.
It further held that Obi’s allegation that fictitious results were recorded for President Tinubu and the APC, by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was not proved
More so, it held that the petitioners were unable to state the figures they claimed were reduced from election results they garnered in different states of the federation, especially in Ondo, Oyo, Rivers, Yobe, Borno, Tabara, Osun and Lagos state.

Labour Party Rejects Presidential Election Tribunal Judgement, To Announce Next Move
The Labour Party (LP) has rejected the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court which upheld the victory of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25, 2023 election.
Naija News earlier reported that the tribunal struck out the Labour Party’s petition challenging President Tinubu’s victory and upheld his declaration as the winner of the election.
But in a statement on Wednesday shortly after the court announced its decision, the LP National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, said the party outrightly rejected the outcome of the ruling.
The party stated that justice was not served and it did not reflect the law and the desire of the people, adding that Nigerians were witnesses to the electoral robbery that took place on February 25.
The LP saluted the doggedness of its team of lawyers who fearlessly exposed the wrath in the system, saying it can only weep for democracy in Nigeria but refused to give up on the country.
The statement reads, “The Labour Party watched with dismay and trepidation the dismissal of petitions by the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Petition Court led by Justice Haruna Tsammani today and we reject the outcome of the judgment in its entirety because justice was not served and it did not reflect the law and the desire of the people.
“Nigerians were witnesses to the electoral robbery that took place on February 25, 2023, which was globally condemned but the Tribunal in its wisdom refused to accept the obvious.
“What is at stake is democracy and we will not relent until the people will prevail.
“We salute the doggedness of our team of lawyers who fearlessly exposed the wrath in our system.
“We can only weep for democracy in Nigeria but we refuse to give up on Nigeria.
“We salute the doggedness of our team of lawyers who fearlessly exposed the wrath in our system.
“We can only weep for democracy in Nigeria but we refuse to give up on Nigeria.
“Details of the party’s position will be presented after consultation with our lawyers after the Certified True Copy of the judgement.
“We urge all lovers of democracy to remain focused and hopeful because a new Nigeria is possible.”
Buhari Ex-Aide, Onochie Speaks On Been Kicked Out Of UK Home
The former Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Lauretta Onochie, on Sunday denied reports that she was kicked out of her United Kingdom (UK) apartment.
There had been reports that Onochie was embarrassed and became stranded after she was kicked out by family members.
The ex-aide to former president, Muhammadu Buhari denied that she was stranded.
She explained that her cousin whom she housed tried to take her home but after a battle, she recovered it.
She wrote on X, “WHAT A BATTLE, I RECOVERED MY HOME.
“My Cousin, Victor Ashiedu Fejokwu and his wife, Ruth Emereze were stranded, in fact, homeless at the time. I took pity on them, took them in, to house them in my home.
“A year ago, when I started making plans to return to continue housing them, they blocked my phone number. I had no access to my letters. Consequently, I missed quite a number of appointments.
“Having the key to the property, I turned up at the door, twice. They installed bolts and bolted the door from the inside and refused to let me in.
“They stopped contributing to the rent when they both had jobs, preferring to host lavish parties.
“I tried again for the last time. When I knocked, his wife sneaked from the garden into the house, to bolt the front door against me.
“Miraculously. Miraculously. She forgot to lock the garden door through where she sneaked into the house. I got access to the house through that door.”
Onochie further stated that they became nasty and when she called the police, they were dealt a heavy blow and told to vacate the house.
